    2. Both characters and reader are never quite sure what is dream and what is reality in this book. Adam is a boy whose father is a doctor who likes to experiment. To what extent he is experimenting with Adam, how much of it is in Adam's head, or how much Adam is deceiving himself we are never sure. Starting off rooted in what is probably reality, the book is perfectly paced so that gradually we are less and less sure if we are in Adam's dreams or not.The dreams are about sex, family, journeys, and [...]

    3. A strange, deeply disturbing and important book about the way people can corrupt themselves and others whilst still believing in their own innocence, about our power to dissociate ourselves from our actions. It's the mindset that informs so many modern scandals, explored through the eyes of a lonely, father-worshiping child.

    4. A most oddly unsettling atmosphere haunts this book. A folkloric horror tale that is at once captivating and disturbing. See my full review at roughghosts/2016/06/06/in

Me.
