There were paragraphs here and there full of information that went well and truly over my head. However, the author does do a good job summarizing what the reader should be taking away.     6. A very concise introduction to neuroplasticity with a petite glossary for reference. I read this book after taking an introductory class in neuroscience and find some chapters (synaptic plasticity particularly) more technical than others (adult neurogenesis and brain training are very easy to read). Overall, the book is still fairly readable and informative. I think adding more diagrams will be helpful for explaining some of the harder concepts.

Taking the format of the book as a given (this is not supposed to be a comprehensive textbook on the topic, so one should not rate the book as if it were), I was closer to five stars than three - mostly because given the sort of book this is, it was actually not particularly easy for me to figure out how Costandi might have improved the book much without changing the format or character of the text significantly. A good and very readable introduction to this topic.
