    1. New York Times and USA Today bestseller Vicki Lewis Thompson believes love makes the world go around and laughter makes the trip worth taking The recipient of RWA s Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award and the author of than ninety books, Vicki pioneered a new kind of romance hero with Nerd in Shining Armor Following the success of her nerd stories, Vicki launched a boisterous paranormal series featuring a matchmaking witch and wizard, an ADD dragon named George, and a black cat inspired by her own precocious feline, Eve.

    2. This is the second book to Vicki Lewis Thompson's Babe's on Broom's. It's about Anica's sister Lily, who has been crushing on this lawyer Griffin. Finally after three months of them ogling one another Lily asks Griffin to go on a coffee date, but he turns her down. His reason is he doesn't think Lily has any plans in her future. He doesn't want to get in a relationship based on lust and get a divorce a few years down the road. He's looking for the real deal and even though he really likes Lily h [...]

    3. How could the first book in the series be so good, and the second so bad? This was one of the most repetitive books I've ever read. Want to know about the plot? Here goes: *insert magical potion here*Griffin: Lily's amazing. I want to have hot sex with her.Lily: Maybe I shouldn't have done this. I'll worry about it after the engagement party.*they have sex* (hotness is debatable, see below)Griffin: Why am I acting so crazy? Oh who cares - Lily is amazing! I want to have hot sex with her.Lily: Ma [...]

    4. I got really bored with this book after about 100 pages. I really really wanted to like this book after reading the first book where Anica accidentally turns her lover into a cat. In book 2 we meet Anica's sister Lily, who has a major crush on one of her bar patrons, Griffin. Griffin has made the ultimate decision that Lily is completely wrong for him, so he makes no effort to ask Lily out. Shes to "wild" for him. With Anica's wedding fast approaching, Lily decides to slip Griffin an infactuatio [...]

    5. I found this to be a good easy read. I liked the potion (elixir) ideal not real original ideal to write about, but it worked for this book and couple. If you read the first book in this series you found Lily was having a hard time getting Griffin to notice her, so she ends up putting a potion in this drink to see if she can win him. I really liked the emotions in this book it was a roller costar ride, especially when she gives her dog to Griffin. I also liked how Griffin found out Lily was a wit [...]

    6. This was a cute fun sexy book to read. Its hard to find a good interesting book about witches, usually the magic doesn't come across well on the written page then most books these days are about vamps. So I was please at well this was written and how much I enjoyed it. The scenes really flow well together. It didn't seem as if they were just trying to make it to the next sex scene it was truly a good plot and story. The only disappointment was with the ending. I felt it all came together to quic [...]

    7. Nowhere near as good as the first book. Glad she doesn't seem to be continuing the series. None of the charm of the 1st book.

    8. I got this book because the first one Blonde with a Wand was one of the first I bought on my Kindle and I loved it!! I am a big fan of Vicki to begin with so I had high hopes for this novel. I shouldn't have built it up in my head so much because I was disappointed. First off, there was no real sense of the characters falling in love so much as falling into bed thanks to the adoration elixir that Lily made. Second it's really hard to not want to shake Lily because she used magic for her own self [...]

    9. This book was so much fun! I loved the POV of the male lead when he was not understanding his own actions or being able to control his urges. Lots of LOL fun and plenty of hot hot sex! Great read if you like supernatural/witch romance stories.

    10. This book was such a letdown that I was tempted quite a few times to give it up midway. It was only through sheer will that I managed to finish this book. I had high hopes from this one after enjoying Anica's story in the first book so much. But Lily's story didn't have enough magic to keep me glued to the pages. Come to think of it, this book didn't even have enough romance to satiate the romantic in me. It was a steamy read and while trying not to sound like a prude, I'll fess up that all the [...]

    11. This is my first Vicki Lewis Thompson book. Oh, don’t gasp too hard! I have a good portion of her books in the old TBR mountain, and as with all of those books in that mountain, time is what keeps me away from the majority of them. But I’m glad I read this one, because now I’m going to be reading more of this author’s books. I had the terrific opportunity to hear Ms. Lewis Thompson’s speech when she won the Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award from RWA in 2008, and her humor stood o [...]

    12. Chick with a Charm was another fun romance from one of my favorite authors, but it didn't have quite the same effect on me as the first book. Lily has been crushing on Griffin for awhile, and has decided to brew up an adoration elixir to get him to reciprocate. It's a terrible idea, but Lily is impulsive and really likes him, and is convinced that he just needs an extra boost to get him to act on his feelings for her. Griffin is a divorce lawyer and has no interest in simple flings. He is attrac [...]

    13. Chick with a Charm by Vicki Lewis Thompson is a fun little paranormal romance novel full of magic and gratuitous sex. Even though it is the second in the Babes on Brooms series, it is not necessary to have read part 1, Blonde with a Wand. There are a few references to the earlier novel, but the main point is explained, and this book centers around a different main character. This is the story of Lily, a wild, fun-loving bartender who also happens to be a witch. During the course of her work, she [...]

    14. My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed: joyfullyreviewed/revieBartender Lily Revere is every bit as untamed a witch as her sister, Anica, is by-the-book. Normally this isn’t a problem, but with Anica’s engagement party fast approaching and Lily’s parents coming into town for the party, the wilder Revere sister has a plan to impress their parents.Unfortunately for human Griffin Taylor, the man Lily has been lusting after, that plan includes him. Griffin is a divorce lawyer whose chil [...]

    15. The idea of dosing someone with a love potion raises awkward questions, given the modern situations involving date-rape drugs and their helpless victims. Is the wrong mitigated when you use it on someone you know is attracted to you but refuses to act on it? Is it somehow funny when the victim is a man rather than a woman? These questions kept nagging at me and wouldn’t go away in spite of the insouciant vivacity of the main female character, Lily Revere, Anica’s flighty younger sister. I won [...]

    16. Review from Backchatting BooksLily Revere has been lusting after the hot lawyer Griffin Taylor but although he sends out the right signals, he isn't interested in a relationship. Lily decides to take his freewill away from him and slip a potent love potion into his drink. It works a little too well as Griffin can't bear to be away from her. Unfortunately Lily doesn't know if his feelings are sincere or if they are the manifestations of the love potion.Lily is fairly self absorbed and incredibly [...]

    17. Lily is a witch who is trying to find her place. Her sister is getting married soon and the engagement party is this weekend and her parents are coming into town. She doesn't want to feel like a total failure especially since the guy she is crushing on, won't go out with her. She decides to slip an adoration elixir into his drink and boy, does it workybe too well. Lily and Griffin have some really hot scenes but it's a bit creepy with Griffin. He's basically obsessed and just this side of being [...]

    18. This review was originally posted on my bloglratrandom/2012/0In Blonde with a Wand, Anica got herself into a heap of trouble when she turned her date into a cat. After a lot of turmoil and heartache her story ended with a happily ever after but will her sister, Lily, have the same outcome in Chick with a Charm? It was obvious that Griffin Taylor would never ask her out on his own so Lily decided to give him a magical nudge in the right direction. The nudge worked like a charm (pun intended) and e [...]

    19. We met Lily in the previous book and we see how impulsive and live in the moment she is. This time around Lily is no difference, when the book opens she is determined to do something about the man she has a crush on. So with the help of her trusty dog, Daisy, she brews up a potion that will make Griffin attracted to her and make the attraction stronger every time they have sex. The potion does exactly what it supposed to. As Lily enjoys her time with Griffin slowly the guilt creeps in and Griffi [...]

    20. This is the second A Babes on Brooms book. Lily found a man that she is interested in. Griffin Taylor comes into the bar where she works every night after work. She knows he is attracted to her but he has not made a move yet. So she decides to put an adoration elixir in his drink. She does but afterward she kind of regrets doing it, but the sex is fantastic. Griff is totally taken with her and she knows it's the elixir. She starts to feel guilty. But her parents are coming for her sister's engag [...]

    21. This was not NEARLY as good as the first one. It was still fluffy and cute, but 95% of this book was sex scenes. What's wrong with that, you may ask? Trust me, after awhile it was so repetitive I started skipping them to get back to the "plot". The first book had its fair share of sexy time, too, but at least it had a plot. This book literally had nothing going on besides Griffin lusting for Lily and then them having sex. The ending was completely ridiculous, by the way. I know I sound like I ha [...]

    22. I am torn between 2 or 3 stars for this book. I settled for 2.5 stars because the book's premise is interesting.Lily is a witch, simple. She brewed adoration potion and mixed it in the drink for Griffin, the hero. I thought it was funny, in the first few chapters. But it just went downhill afterward. There are lots and lots of unnecessary adoration scenes that make this book unbearable. It just makes me cringed when I imagined the level of adoration Griffin had been bestowing (non stop) to Lily. [...]

    23. It was hard to get attached to this book for its first half because, while the writing style was both quirky and fun, there was too much pointless sex. I didn't know the characters long enough to invest excitement in their bedroom playd too much sex without enough story and action becomes dull fast. The book finally started taking off with actual story though, and it had saving graces of being genuinely amusing, cute without sappy, a unique formula plot-wise, and a genuinely "magical" happy endi [...]

    24. Did not have the 'charm' of the first book in series. (Sorry!) Deliberate misuse of powers felt icky from the start. Most of the book is very angsty with Heroine feeling very, very guilty over unethical spell vs great sex and the Hero angsting over great sex vs. 'what the hell and I doing - this is just not me' confusion. Did not feel the heart energy. Resolution of her walking away and him instantaneously realizing he was in love with her and 'marry me' just did not ring true for me - perhaps n [...]

    25. Cute, quick read with lots and lots of sex and a predictable story. Although the storyline began as a believable plot and Daisy the dog was adorable, the characters repeated themselves a lot, the story deteriorated into Lily and Griffin having a lot of sex, not much was explained, Griffin has to figure things out, more sex, and I was a bit put off with the ending, which was wrapped up too neatly and quickly. Did I mention all the sex?? I was expecting more plot and good explanations for the magi [...]

    26. I was really excited about this book, until I started reading it. I needed a 'magic wand' for Emily's reading challenge and wanted to read something good. I carefully researched books online, in Novelist, and in the library catalog. I should have checked likesbooks that review is right in line with what I thought. Basically I read the first chapter and the last chapter of this book and then had absolutely no interest in going any further. I've liked other books by this author, she's got great, s [...]

    27. I really enjoyed this book. This is the first book I've read of Vicki Lewis Thompson and I will be reading more of her books. This book is about a twenty-something bar-tending witch who creates an elixir to cause her love "interest" to pay attention to her. Needless to say, the plan backfires. This book is full of humor, romance, drama and nicely written sex scenes. This books is written for adults and contains adult content. I love it. I recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal romanc [...]

    28. Vicki Lewis Thompson is always fun to read! And after reading Pillars of the Earth I really really needed something fun. Think of this series as an adult version of the sixties TV show "Bewitched". Just take the magic as a given and just imagine what might happen when it is all taken seriously. Sure, you can make someone fall in love or lust with you. But what are the consequences? Enough. I don't want to over analyze what is ultimately a fun and satisfying read.

    29. A very charming book (play on words intended). Ms. Thompson continues the series with the same level of delight and characterization that she started with in the earlier books. She does an excellent job of introducing new characters and at the same time bringing back many of the characters from her earlier books without repeating things. The basic plot themes of a romance are there but she weaves a good story around the basics and makes it seem new. A light and delightful read.

    30. OK, quite frankly, didn't care for this one quite as much. It followed a similar theme, but was about younger sister Lily slipping an adoration potion into the drink of her crush. The result? He becomes obsessed with her and pretty much turns into a love slave. I don't know, the messing with free will thing was just a tad too creepy for my taste, but I can see where it would have its appeal for some.

    31. What do you do when the guy you like refuses to like you back? You give him and adoration potion and enjoy the sexy times with your newly acquired lovesick slave! Why not?!This was funny in a very silly way, but I was annoyed with Lily's constant inner monologue because what she did was wrong (no way, really?) and the fact that the ending felt a bit rushed. I'd have liked a bit more of relationship building.I'll still probably read her other books just have fun.
