    1. 2. In this book Joel Osteen, his family and friends not only share special Christmas memories in this book, but also what those memories taught them in a life lesson. It was interesting to read what each of the people remembered about loved ones and how memories created impacted them throughout their lives.

    3. Even though I have heard most of these stories before, I enjoyed and savored the true meaning of Christmas.

    4. Joel Osteen has a charming way of sharing Holiday memories ( some good; some not so much ) but how Faith and Perseverance can get anyone through anything.

    5. In true Joel Osteen fashion, he tells tales of growing up at Christmas with his family and friends. Although the stories at times seemed a bit sappy, they were also heart felt as I would expect from this preacher and author. He includes tales told by friends as well. Each story relates to some facet of the Bible and how he has always grown up with faith that all is good and life is how it should be.I gave the book 3 stars as I did like the memoir of good feelings but at times felt disjointed and [...]

    6. The Christmas Spirit is a collection of Christmas time stories. Joel Osteen shared stories and memories about his family and how they celebrated Christmases when he was a young boy. His mother and father always made the major decision to tell the Osteen kids about Jesus being born for the whole wide world. Joel Osteen and his brothers and sisters did get some Christmas presents growing up. But the Osteen children were taught values that continued and made them who they are today. Joel’s father [...]

    7. I found Joel Osteen while I was on a treadmill during a conference last spring. His Sundat broadcast was playIng in the fitness room. I was taken by his attitude that we create our own happiness and joy and God wants us to be joyful. I decided to read this book and truly enjoyed the collection of short stories from his friends and family. It was like getting a peak at other family'sChristmases. It was enjoyable, truthful, and often up lifting. One of my favorites was about a Christmas snow in Me [...]

    8. In the book "The Christmas spirit", Joel Osteen the author talked about his family Christmas traditions. He also talked about who made it happen. In one of his chapters "Our Fathers Gift", (pg.2, prg.4)he told us that on Christmas Eve he slept under the Christmas tree with all his family and they just tell stories and pray for other needy people. They told us that God gave the this gift.I honesty think that this book had no weaknesses.Though I admire how he tells us about his family.I would recomm [...]

    9. A couple dear to my heart has taken an interest in Joel Osteen, so in order to learn more about his ministry, I downloaded "The Christmas Spirit" onto my Nook and read it while we were on our Christmas trip. Reading this book was like having a conversation with the author, and the books detail gave me a great deal of history on his church in Houston, TX. I was particularly impressed by the descriptions of Osteen's Mom and how she overcame cancer. It was a nice introduction to the entire family.

    10. Strangely enough, the book I read just before this (Anne George - Murder Gets a Life) had a character named Meemaw whose husband was a NASA scientist who worked with Werner von Braun. Then, in this book, Joel talks about his wife's grandmother who's called Meemaw, and his wife's father is a mathematician who worked for NASA and worked with Werner von Braun. What are the chances I'd read two books in a row, one fiction and one nonfiction, that would have those similarities? I wonder if Anne Georg [...]

    11. It's holiday spirit all wrapped up in the author's perfect family & how others should view similar type things when it happens in your life. In concept I guess it's all quite perfect but in reality, I don't think anyone's family is this happy, unflawed & perfect, like this family. A bit sickeningly sweet &'gushy for me, IMO, also not very realistic, but happy he is able to find only the greatest experiences & the best parts in his own family. Keep the faith, because someone has t [...]

    12. A few of the stories really touched me and did raise my Christmas spirit but it was just okay. Not really the emotional push I was hoping for. Joel's story of his grandfather really touched home for me because it reminded me so much of my own late father who had a rough upbringing but celebrated life with such joy, faith and love.

    13. Really enjoyed this book. It brought back memories of my childhood Christmases and looked at traditions, trials and triumphs of following Christ and what the season has always been about. The birth of Jesus, our Savior.

    14. I've always liked Joel Osteen's books and this is another great one!!! Really loved all the Christmas stories and it helps to show the real meaning of Chirstmas. Makes me apperciate all my Chirstmases with my family and friends too!!!

    15. Great book about Joel Osteen's Christmas stories and his faith in God and also celebrating the birth of Jesus. Highly recommend.

    16. I really enjoy this book it's my first Joel Osteen book. A fast read makes you think about Christmas and the true meaning of Christmas beautifully written!!!

    17. This is a wonderful collection of stories about Christian families and their celebrations of Christmas. It is inspiring and brings joy.I highly recommend this book for anyone's holiday reading.

    18. A quick read of Inspirational stories from Joel Osteen. Its only 144 pgs long, so it goes quickly. Not as inspirational as I expected, but a nice book.

    19. A nice, little memoir of Osteen's memories of Christmases past. No Great Literature here, but a pleasant little diversion for a couple of days.

    20. A warm account of experiences in the author's life of different Christmas memories. Enjoyable, and a quick read.
